Featuring over 540 exhibiting companies occupying more than 1,550 booths, the exposition will showcase the latest equipment, materials and services for the production of 300mm silicon wafers, nanotechnology devices, FPD, and photovoltaic products.

Interest and attendance at SEMICON Korea are being bolstered by strong capital equipment and materials spending into the region, and preliminary figures show spending of about $13.5 billion in 2007. Currently, Korea has eight 300mm fabs in production, mainly for the manufacture of Flash and DRAM, with nine more scheduled to go into production over the next six years.

SEMICON Korea features four halls of product and technology exhibits, as well as a full range of technical and business sessions, including a new program focused on photovoltaic technologies. The conference keynote will be delivered by Stefan Lai, vice president of Business Development at Ovonyx. He will discuss the wide range of applications for PCM memory technology.

The SEMICON Korea STS (SEMI Technical Symposium,) January 30-31, features technical sessions including Advanced Lithography, Dielectrics Metals New Materials and their processes, Device, Etching, Contamination-free Manufacturing and CMP, Electropackage System and Interconnect Products, and will offer a comprehensive view of technological innovations for next generation semiconductor manufacturing.

Other programs include an IP seminar, which will focus on the importance of IP, and why mutual IP protection should be emphasized; a greenhouse gas reduction and energy saving seminar; and photovoltaic technology seminar, as well as multiple standards and market sessions.
