BROOKLYN, USA: Sematext Group, Inc., a Brooklyn-based Search and Big Data analytics products and services company, has added Apache Storm and Redis monitoring and alerting to SPM, its core Performance Monitoring solution.

An enterprise-class solution available in Cloud (SaaS) and On Premises editions, SPM monitors critical Search and Big Data services like Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Solr, ZooKeeper and many others running on hundreds of thousands of servers all over the globe.

User demand from Sematext's diverse customer base of Fortune 100 multinationals to innovative startups prompted the development of this new functionality, which features benefits like dynamic real-time customizable dashboards graphing performance metrics alongside business KPI trends, built-in alerts, Algolerts (automatic anomaly detection), integration with Sematext's log analytics tool (Logsene) and many other time- and effort saving functions.

"We are excited to add monitoring and alerting for Apache Storm and Redis to SPM," said Otis Gospodnetic, Sematext's founder and CEO.

"Originally developed at Twitter for handling over 500 million tweets per day, Storm's ability to perform distributed, real-time mining of high volume data streams has become indispensable to many organizations. And we didn't just stop at adding Storm monitoring and alerting," said Gospodnetic.

Added Eugene Dvorkin, a software engineer at WebMD, "SPM fills the gap for robust performance monitoring and alerting for Apache Storm deployments at any scale. It visualizes Storm cluster performance and makes it easier to optimize it. I think SPM is a great addition to any Storm cluster deployment."

Sematext is already working on additional functionality in SPM (and also their other solutions like Logsene and Search Analytics) to meet the needs of IT and Engineering executives, DevOps professionals and SysAdmins around the globe.
