Seagate, Ingram Micro Asia join forces

Forming a strategic alliance to facilitate regional

business growth, Seagate Technology Inc recently announced that it has named Electronic

Resources India Ltd (ERIL), a subsidiary of Ingram Micro, as an authorized distributor for

its storage products. Ingram is Seagate's third distributor in the country and is in

keeping with the company's strategy to have many distributors for its products. Ingram

would be distributing Seagate's entire disk drive product line in India.

The company announced the launch of U8 product

line--follow-on to successful U4 disc drive this week. This is targeted at sub-$700 PC

market. This product-line is likely to be shipped in India by September.
