SCO, Datavision to provide core banking solution

New Delhi: The SCO Group, Inc., has announced that the company is working with DataVision Software Solutions Pvt Ltd., to provide an integrated core banking solution to the vast and expanding markets of Brazil, Russia, India and China, also known as the BRIC markets.

DataVision and SCO are cooperating to provide the BRIC banking institutions with a proven, reliable, and cost-effective solution stack for their banking branches as they move from branch automation to core banking functions. The Core Banking Solution Stack will include DataVision's DataMate solution running on SCO UNIX and will be available in Q4 of 2006.

“This is a major design win for SCO. The BRIC markets are poised to see major changes taking place among banking institutions during the next several years. Critical to their success is having a proven, cost effective solution to help them make the transition to Core Banking, ” said Sandeep Gupta, general manager and chief technology officer for the platforms division, The SCO Group, Inc. “And SCO UNIX running DataVision's DataMate Solution is the right choice to support a seamless migration from branch automation to core banking.”

SCO already has a large installed base of customers especially in the banking and finance sectors, particularly in Russia, India and China. DataVision, a leading developer of banking applications based in India, shares many of these same customers. Together these companies will provide a world-class Core Banking Solution Stack for the BRIC market.
