NEW DELHI, INDIA: The apex court today extended the interim bail to former telecom minister Sukh Ram in a 1993 telecom scam till August 7. The court will hear the appeal challenging conviction on the same day.
Justice P Sathasivam issued notices to the investigating agency. The parole to the co-accused, former bureaucrat Runu Ghosh and Hyderabad-based businessman P Rama Rao, has also been extended.
The Supreme Court had earlier granted interim bail till January 16 to Sukh Ram. The CBI had filed its chargesheet in March 1997 alleging criminal conspiracy between him and businessmen.
