NEW DELHI: Satyam Infosys and Hindustan Petroleum (HP) have initiated a project wherein cyber cafes have been set up at select petrol pumps of HP in Delhi, Mumbai and other Indian cities. According to sources, out of the 68 HP petrol pumps in Delhi, a total of 40 will have these cyber cafes. On the whole, a total of 200 petrol pumps in the North and the West are expected to be covered by the project.

Three computers have been installed at each of the 12 petrol pumps in Delhi located at places like South Extension, Chanakya Puri, Khyber Pass, Karkardooma, ISBT, Mal Road, etc. These cafes are expected to be functional within the next week. The computers have been sourced from HCL and the Ariscom Netlinker routers from Delhi-based Select Technologies. Satyam has provided the interior designing and furniture for these cafes, most of which are expected to have ISDN connections.
