BANGALORE: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. has opened its first Satyam Canada Development Center (SCDC) in Mississauga, Ontario. Mississauga mayor, Hazel McCallion congratulated the Satyam team in her speech, "We are excited about the impact that Satyam will have on the city of Mississauga and appreciate their commitment in opening a world-class technology center in Canada. Mississauga is a technology leader in Canada and we are confident that Satyam's presence here will enhance that reputation."
"Through the encouragement of our clients, we decided to set up the SCDC before schedule in early 2004," said Sanjay Tugnait, Country Manager, Satyam Canda. "We strategically moved elements of our service offerings that would not only add value, but also enable our local operations to bring better and faster services to our Canadian clients."
The SCDC is housed in a 4000 square feet location within the technology hub of Mississauga. The center is primarily used as a Software Development Center, and set with hi-tech computing equipment, with secure high speed connectivity to client hosts as well as other development centers in the US and India. The facility can house about 40 to 50 IT professionals.
Satyam's President Ram Mynampati stated, "With the opening of our new Canada Development Center, Satyam will be able to better facilitate near shore services for our customers in the United States. Satyam now has 18 development centers globally, and is well positioned to achieve our goal of servicing both the local and global markets."
