Satyam Q4 PAT up 18.6 p.c.

HYDERABAD, INDIA: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. has reported an 18.61 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

The company posted a profit after tax of Rs 466.85 crore for Q4 as compared to Rs 393.58 crore posted for the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Satyam’s total income for the quarter was at Rs 2438.99 crore, a 31.9 per cent increase from Rs 1849.55 crore posted for corresponding quarter.

For the year ended March 31, 2008, the company posted a PAT of Rs 1687.89 crore, a rise of 20.2 per cent from Rs 1404.74 crore posted for the financial year 2007.

Total Income rose from Rs 6668.36 crore to Rs 8740.69 crore, an increase of 31.1 per cent.

The company expects its FY 08-09 revenue to be between Rs 10,500 crore and Rs 10,670 crore, a growth rate of 23.9 per cent and 25.9 per cent over fiscal 2008. EPS for the year is expected to be between Rs 29.54 to Rs 30.04, with a growth rate of 17 per cent to 19 per cent.

For Q1 FY 2009, the revenue is expected to be between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 2,512.5 crore, a growth rate of 3.5 per cent and 4.0 per cent.

EPS is expected to be between Rs 7.64 to Rs 7.68, a growth rate of 9.7 per cent to 10.2 per cent.

During Q4, the company added 32 new clients, including four Fortune 500 companies.

The company now has more than 51,000 employees working in 63 countries. Annualized quarterly attrition dropped to 11.5 per cent in Q4.

The company’s board has proposed a final dividend of 125 per cent. The total dividend for FY 08 stands at 175 per cent, including the interim dividend of 50 per cent.
