Satyam in pact with Saint-Gobain

Satyam Computer Services Ltd. has signed an agreement with Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Inc, a Massachusetts-based corporation, to provide IT services. Satyam will develop reports, interfaces, conversion, enhancement and forms (RICEF objects) for the Saint-Gobain Abrasives` global SAP project required as part of the first task order. Satyam has established an offshore development centre for Saint-Gobain in Bangalore.

The US-based company is the world’s largest manufacturer of abrasives and produces technologically advanced ceramics, performance plastics, and chemical process products. Satyam’s senior VP and manufacturing vertical head, Subu D, said, "This breakthrough with Saint-Gobain Abrasives is another impressive demonstration of the confidence of large companies in Satyam’s expertise and state-of-the-art technology."

At the BSE today, Satyam shares closed lower at Rs 197.75, down Rs 5.10 or 2.51 per cent against its previous close of Rs 202.85.
