As organizations increasingly streamline business operations to remain competitive, processes need to become customer-centric and highly responsive to change. BPM provides that flexibility, while enabling convergence of people, process and technology.

"This partnership will benefit customers of both companies," said Sriram Krishnan, Head of Content and Process Management at Satyam. "K2's robust products, combined with Satyam's BPM consulting and implementation services, will deliver operational cost savings, error reduction and improvement for organizations throughout the world and in numerous industries, including energy, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications and insurance."

K2 blackpearl is a comprehensive BPM suite that enables Microsoft users to build process-driven applications with visual, familiar tools. Its applications can be set up to automate and manage practically any type of business processes, or pull together business processes, human resources, services, information and systems into a single application. As a result, companies can streamline operations, reduce IT costs, improve responsiveness, minimize risk and make better business decisions.

"The combination of Satyam's experience in collaboration, enterprise content management and business process solutions, along with the power of K2 blackpearl, K2 blackpoint and our K2 connect for SAP offering, enables a new class of applications for our customers," said Dave Marcus, vice president of global alliances for K2.

In 2009, Satyam will develop a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Chennai, India, that will ensure timely support, delivery and governance of K2-based solutions. Professionals at the facility will develop frameworks and methodologies using K2's SmartObject (i.e., reusable business entity) technology, which will result in better decision making, routing and reporting based on 360-degree visibility across line-of-business systems.
