HYDERABAD: Satyam Computer Services, a globally integrated end-to-end IT
solutions provider, and IdeaEdge Ventures, a mobile Internet company of the US,
have announced a joint venture. The new company, Satyam IdeaEdge Technologies
(SIT), would provide technology solutions to companies in the emerging mobile
Internet industry.
"SIT will initially focus on providing solutions to IdeaEdge Ventures
and will strategically leverage the resource base of Satyam to launch its
services worldwide," said Satyam Computer Services managing director B Rama
Raju.
SIT, a 50:50 joint venture based in Hyderabad, will focus on developing
solutions in the areas of 2G, networking and wireless enablement. Over the next
three years, SIT's core delivery team, provided by Satyam, will see its strength
increasing to 500.
"We chose to partner with IdeaEdge as both the companies recognize the
enormous business opportunity that exists globally in the wireless industry,
particularly in the mobile Internet infrastructure space. We have an
understanding wherein 40 per cent of the business would be outsourced to Satyam,"
added Raju.
Satyam, founded in 1987 and headquartered in Hyderabad, has a presence in 35
countries across five continents.
