Satyam Computer gets $150 mn order from GM

Commenting on the deal Subu D, Director and Senior Vice President — Manufacturing and Automotive Practice said, “GM is a strategic global Account for Satyam for last 4-5 years in key areas like product development, sales and marketing and supply chain. Satyam has been involved in the GM 2006 Program since the release of the RFPs in early 2005 as a strategic partner to HP and Capgemini. We are pleased to announce that all of our joint bids with our partners have been successful. As a result we have received significant committed sustained revenue for next five years along with an opportunity to generate additional revenue from development”

GM had given IT contracts worth a total of $15 billion for over five year period. Electronic Data Systems snatched the major share of $3.8 billion, and Wipro Ltd. had bagged $300 million.
