Satyam bags contract from Unilever group

BANGALORE: Satyam Computer Services has signed a three year development

services agreement with the European home and personal care (HPC-E) division of

Lever Faberge, a Unilever group company. Satyam will provide on-site development

services to HPC-E at their UK site and also create an offshore development

center in India.

According to the agreement, Satyam will provide IT services that includes,

computer programming, consulting, software development/ customization

installation and maintenance, with particular expertise in Computer Software,

CAD/CAM/CAE, supply chain management, ERP and e-commerce areas.

Satyam will be putting in place a dedicated multi-task team drawn from

various Satyam units that includes technical analysts, business analysts and

consultants. A project specific senior level customer relationship manager will

coordinate the implementation of the project both in the UK and in India.

Satyam managing director B. Rama Raju said, "The team on the client's

side is highly professional and quality driven. Our project group is excited

because the scope of work allows Satyam to bring a total solution approach to

the project, including our RightSourcing delivery model. " Unilever head of

supply chain IT application center, Jan-Pieter vd Wittenboer said, " We

were looking for an IT partner that had a global perspective and provided a

broad spectrum of development services, Satyam matched our requirement

perfectly."
