HYDERABAD: Satyam Computer Services Ltd., a global consulting and IT services
provider, today announced the appointment of Michael Gallup as the Senior Vice
President of its Energy and Utilities Vertical Business Unit. Gallup will focus
on adding value to existing and new customer relationships, and identifying and
developing high-end partnerships in the Energy & Utilities area. He focus
will in building new capabilities, enhancing industry-specific service offerings
and expanding Satyam's global footprint.
Gallup brings to Satyam over 25 years of industry experience centered around
strategy, relationship management, new business development, business and
technology architecture, technology implementation, process re-design, cost
reduction and profitability improvement. His experience in working in the US,
Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Jamaica, Mexico, Norway, Turkey and
the UK will enable him to gain an immediate understanding of the local customer
expectations. Mike will focus on expanding businesses through planning and
implementation of business strategies, as well as application of best practices
and innovative technologies.

Prior to joining Satyam, Gallup was associated with Deloitte Consulting LLP,
USA, as the Director of the Utilities practice for over three years. Before
that, he was associated with leading consulting firms such as Cap Gemini Ernst
&Young as Vice President, and with Ernst & Young LLP as a Partner. In
both the firms, he primarily worked with Utilities and their unregulated
subsidiaries. Gallup's other assignments include working with companies such
as Public Service Enterprise Group (the parent of NJ-based Public Service
Electric & Gas), FMC, Elders Resources, McKinsey & Company, Shell
Chemicals and Exxon Chemicals in various capacities.
Gallup has a Masters in Business Administration with distinction from
Harvard, and a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Chemical
Engineering from Cornell University.
