Sasken net nosedives to Rs 3.8 cr

BANGALORE, INDIA: Sasken Communication Technologies Limited suffered a 68.3 per cent decline in its third quarter ended December 31, 2007.

The company’s net profit stood at Rs 3.8 crore as compared to Rs 12 crore it posted in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s revenue stood at Rs 141.3 crore, up by 7.2 per cent when compared to the corresponding quarter last year.

Rajiv Mody, chairman and CEO, Sasken, said, “The consolidation of Sasken’s business verticals to focus on handsets, semiconductors and networks which was implemented in Q3 has made us better prepared to address the business context we are operating in.”

The company added a gross total of 228 employees in the quarter, taking the total employee strength to 3,602 as on December 31, 2007. Seven new customers were added during the quarter, taking the total to 91 active customers.
