MUMBAI: SAS Inc., a data warehousing, data mining and e-intelligence
solutions company, has announced a strategic alliance with KSA-Technopak(KSA), a
global management consultant.
Under the terms of the alliance, the two companies will work towards
providing comprehensive Business Intelligence(BI) solutions to the Indian retail
market. While SAS will offer BI products and expertise, KSA-Technopak will use
its expertise in understanding the Indian and global markets and offer
integrated customized software solutions to the Indian retail industry.
Commenting on the alliance, SAS India CEO and managing director Gourish
Hosangady said the partnership would provide SAS a global exposure. Elaborating
on the partnership, Gourish said the aim was now to project SAS's position as a
global leader in the Indian market and thereby become the vendor of choice for
BI solutions in India.
KSA-Technopak representative Rita Basu said the alliance would help KSA in
reaching small, medium and large retailers, manufacturers and brand owners with
cost effective BI solutions. It will also empower decision makers to know their
customers, suppliers and organization in order to make informed decisions.
This apart, KSA is also setting up a SAS competency center that would develop
expertise in providing integrated solutions.
The alliance would also enable KSA to integrate SAS technology and services
into its solutions and hence provide cost-effective solutions in the area of
customer lock-ins, merchandised planning and optimization, inventory and
performance management across multiple channels.
With the Indian market for data warehousing estimated at around $40 million,
the alliance will now target retailers, telecom and financial institutions.
