HYDERABAD: Sapient is in an agreement to acquire Business Information Solutions, LLC (BIS), a provider of SAP-related professional services, specializing in business intelligence (BI) solutions. The acquisition, which is expected to be completed late in the second quarter of this year, is subject to certain closing conditions and approvals.

According to the press release, Sapient's clients will benefit from BIS's recognized expertise and thought leadership in the latest SAP products and solutions, including Business Information Warehouse (BW), Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM), NetWeaver and other "New Dimension" products. This expertise, combined with the ability to leverage Sapient's agile-based Global Distributed Delivery model, will enable clients to realize superior returns from their investments in SAP.

Additionally, the acquisition of BIS will extend Sapient's outsourcing capabilities to include the management of SAP applications.

"The opportunity in the SAP services market is growing rapidly as many large organizations seek to improve competitive advantage by leveraging their SAP investments," said Sapient executive VP Alan Herrick. "We're excited about adding BIS's considerable expertise in SAP's advanced and innovative products. With this acquisition, we will build on our SAP and business intelligence capabilities to help our clients increase agility and gain better visibility into running their businesses," he added.

"This acquisition will bring together two great companies with complementary service offerings who share one common goal of delivering extraordinary results to our clients," said BIS CEO, Hagen Ruff. "Working together, we can provide our clients with a broader set of services and deeper industry expertise to further their success," he added.
