BANGALORE:
SAP
India and Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding work together in areas of common interest.
The alliance was signed, during the India visit of Henning Kagermann, CEO and
chairman of the Executive Board, SAP AG. Alan Sedghi, president and CEO, SAP
Indian Sub Continent and Professor Shyamal Roy, Dean - Academic, IIMB signed the
MoU.
SAP would
support IIMB's Centre for Enterprise Resource Planning, whilst IIMB's faculty
would collaborate with SAP in the creation, sharing and dissemination of
knowledge. Through this vehicle (the Centre for
Enterprise
Resource Planning) both
SAP and IIMB intend to take the extent of their collaboration to a higher
level, and would include conducting industry specific national and international
conferences and workshops, and roundtable discussions.
There would be a special focus on working with Government (Central, State and
Local) ministries and departments with a view towards ushering in more
meaningful E-Governance. It would also help organizations make the transition
into business environments that incorporate the latest in IT with the
appropriate business solutions platform.
“The partnership between
SAP
and IIMB is an endeavor to enable senior executives and officials in Governments
to effectively harness the enormous potential that integrated and innovative
technology solutions deliver for the good of all stakeholders — citizens,
business and administrators,” said Alan Sedghi, president and CEO, SAP Indian
Sub Continent.
“IIMB is both a producer as well as a disseminator of knowledge, and hence we
feel our partnership with them will offer real value to technocrats, managers
and governments in charting out India's E-Governance future.” said Henning
Kagermann, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board, SAP AG on the SAP — IIMB
partnership.
SAP's constant endeavor across the years has been to engage with universities on
initiatives to bring technology into the class room as well as to sponsor
studies to research and evaluate opportunities that innovative software
solutions offer to firms. SAP University Alliances Program is a one such global
endeavor that provides university faculty members with the tools and resources
necessary to teach students how technology can enable integrated business
processes and strategic thinking -- and gives students the skills to add
immediate value to the marketplace. The India chapter of SAP University
Alliances Program, launched in 2004, has 12 lading institutes as member schools
as of today.
