SAP Portals, HP join hands to offer enterprise portal solutions

BANGALORE: SAP Portals Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SAP AG and
Hewlett-Packard Company have announced a global agreement to provide fully
integrated and open portal solutions to enterprise customers.

The alliance will combine SAP Portals enterprise portal and business
intelligence solutions with HP technology and consulting services to deliver
enterprise portal solutions to companies that want to leverage vital information
within and beyond their organizational boundaries for strategic advantage,
enhanced business efficiency and increased profitability.

SAP Portals and HP will jointly dedicate engineering resources to port SAP
Portals Enterprise Portal to run on HP-UX 11i. The SAP Portals Enterprise Portal
is a complete solution that delivers business value by integrating
collaboration, knowledge management and relevant content and by unifying
disparate applications, information and services. SAP Portals Enterprise Portal
for HP-UX is expected to be available during the third quarter of 2002.

Building on the success of HP's relationship with SAP AG, with more than
10,000 SAP software installations worldwide, HP Services has been named a global
consulting and implementation partner for the delivery of all SAP enterprise
portal solutions. HP will develop expert resources worldwide to deliver SAP
Portals' enterprise portal and business intelligence on HP-UX and HP Netserver
infrastructure helping customers achieve maximum business value.

As part of the agreement, the two companies will further their combined reach
in the marketplace and support the creation of innovative technology by
establishing customer demo and solution centers. The initial demo center will be
located at HP's SAP Portals Competency Center in Walldorf, Germany. The first
customer solution center will be located in France.
