SAP launches Business One in India

MUMBAI: SAP India today launched its integrated business management solution, Business One, in India, targeted at the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium business (SMBs).

The SAP Business One solution is targeted at companies having a turnover of less than Rs. 50 crore. Business One has been launched globally some years back, it was rolled out in China three years ago, India is the last market in the Asia-Pacific region.

The solution is aimed at the price sensitive Indian SMEs, the starting price for the solution is Rs. 10 lacs. SAP is the current leader in the business software solutions space in India, it has over 54% market share and offers over 30 solutions targeted at different verticals. Business One is the foray of the company to the price sensitive SME segment in India; according to an estimate Indian SMBs spent $4,7 billion on IT in 2004.

SAP already has 10 Indian customers for its Business One solution, Alan Sedghi, president and CEO, SAP South Asia said, “We are targeting 500 customers for Business One in India by the end of the year.”

The solution will be available to the customers via SAP channel partners; the company is in the process to extend its channel partners in India.
