SAP to hire 3,000 in 2005

FRANKFURT: Germany's SAP, the world's biggest maker of business software, will hire around 3,000 extra staff this year as it focuses on sales growth and winning market share, it said on Wednesday.



"We have always said we would invest in the future in 2005," Chief Financial Officer Werner Brandt told the company's annual results news conference. "We'll hire about 3,000 new staff this year."



SAP took on 2,595 new staff in 2004, increasing its headcount by nine percent.
