The midmarket program, launched in 2008, delivers tangible value to SAP channel partners and companies associated with them. It further aligns SAP with selected SAP PartnerEdge channel partners in order to develop the partners’ extended ecosystem in new geographies and verticals through the recruitment and development of program members.

The company created this program to grant companies who regularly recommend, implement or develop SAP solutions access to SAP through its PartnerEdge network.

Hardware vendors, business consulting firms, resellers, and independent software vendors who join the program as members are recruited and managed by an SAP channel partner, in the role of a acting as so called Master Value Added Reseller (Master VAR), said a press release.

All program members are aligned with SAP and the SAP brand, participate in tailored enablement and demand generation programs; supported by their Master VAR who is authorized to re-sell SAP solutions in the midmarket.

Currently eight selected SAP channel partners act as Master VAR in the SAP Extended Business program in APJ; managing approximately 40 program members across the region. All members have access to SAP systems and resources, training and enablement, coaching and deal support for the SAP Channel Partner’s SAP solution portfolio, said the release.

“With the SAP Extended Business program, SAP continues to demonstrate its commitment to the SAP ecosystem in APJ,” said Christopher Knoerr, vice president Indirect Channels, SAP Asia Pacific Japan.

He added that they expect their SME ecosystem programs such as the SAP Extended Business program would have a significant positive impact for our Master VARs and the program members.

Participation in the SAP Extended Business program is voluntary, free of charge and open to companies who are associated to channel partners in the SAP PartnerEdge program. The manner in which program members and VAR partners cooperate and provide compensation is at their discretion; the commercial relationship between VAR and customer remains unchanged by the new program, added the release.
