SAP to double Univ reach in India

PUNE, INDIA: Of the 900 Universities under the aegis of SAP's Global University Alliance, 30 have the India tag with 10,000 students being touched so far.

This number will double up to 60 Universities in the next 18 months and 12,000 students, as shared by Dr. Robert LoBue, Vice President, Global University Alliances, SAP AG.

Talking to CyberMedia News, he added that going forward this alliance will make a lot if impact in the overall ecosystem with new SAP skillsforce and functions added ahead. He also pointed out the importance of leveraging the academic influencers through professors and other entities who are key to curriculum design and outreach.

SAP has launched the TERP10 certification academy, its global baseline certification standard. It has been adopted by over 30 Indian educational institutions like XLRI Jamshedpur, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIT Kanpur, Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) Pune, International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi, Symbiosis Center for Information technology (SCIT) Pune, Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), Bhubaneswar and National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE ) Mumbai.

"The SAP University Alliances program is an endeavor to develop a high-end SAP skilled workforce, a critical requirement in today’s competitive economy. With the introduction of TERP10, Indian students can now avail of a wider breadth and a deeper understanding of the main functional areas within SAP’s world-leading Enterprise Resource Planning software,"he explained.

Launched at the Symbiosis Center for Management and Human Resource Development Institute in Pune, TERP10 will subsequently be made available to all interested Indian colleges and universities that are members of the SAP University Alliances program.

"University Alliances program member students will receive the additional benefits of the advanced Enterprise Resource Planning certification course being delivered through specially trained professors at an especially low cost."
