BANGALORE: Business software solutions provider SAP AG has unveiled new

versions of its fixed-scope, pre-defined packages of software and services.

Based on mySAP ERP, the SAP Best Practices offerings are available in 28

scenarios addressing the demands of midsize enterprises in industries as diverse

as retail, utilities and the public sector.

The new SAP Best Practices portfolio offers business process scenarios for
specific industries, such as Batch Recall for the fast-moving consumer goods

industry and Prototype Development for the high-tech industry. Customers can use

industry-specific SAP Best Practices in conjunction with cross-industry

scenarios for customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management

(SCM), such as Campaign Management, Engineer-to-Order and Supply Chain

Performance Management.

SAP partners could utilize SAP Best Practices to build micro-vertical mySAP
All-in-One solution offerings that leverage their unique industry expertise and

service capabilities. Midsize enterprises can choose from a broad micro-vertical

portfolio of nearly 600 qualified mySAP All-in-One partner solutions, available

in more than 50 countries and used by more than 6,700 customers.

"SAP solutions have helped us become a truly integrated, process-based
organization that allows us to respond to market challenges quickly," said

Sanjay Mittal, head of IT, Navin Fluorine International Limited. "The SAP

Best Practices pre-configured building blocks served as the foundation for rapid

incorporation of globally-benchmarked best practices into each of the

functionalities at Navin Fluorine. With this, a single investment has enabled us

to adopt best practices as part of our business process re-engineering exercise

- completed on time in just 90 days."

Korea-headquartered Dongwoo STI Co., Ltd., an LCD colour filter manufacturing
joint venture between Sumitomo Chemical, NSTI and Dongwoo Fine-Chem, has also

seen significant benefits: "When we used our legacy system, a lot of time

was consumed just collecting data from different kinds of systems and functional

departments and the credibility of the data was questionable," said

Myungkul Lee, management planning office chief manager/ERP project manager,

Dongwoo STI Co Ltd. "After we applied mySAP All-in-One with SAP Best

Practices, we know our data is accurate enough to share corporate-wide. Moreover

the simplified user interface of our Web GUI integrated with SAP has increased

the user friendliness of the new system and decreased user errors."
