SAP India appoints Suprakash Chaudhuri as MD

BANGALORE, INDIA: SAP AG has appointed Suprakash Chaudhuri as managing director, SAP India & Subcontinent.

Suprakash will be responsible for all market-facing activities across the field organization, overseeing customer operations as well as general management like sales, consulting, partner ecosystem expansion and marketing, according to a company statement.

"The SAP leadership team expressed great appreciation for the business and market leadership Suprakash provided as the acting MD for SAP India since 3Q'12," said Steve Watts, president, SAP Asia-Pacific Japan. "India with over 4,900 customers has become one of the best performing businesses. Suprakash, in his new role as MD, will continue to drive SAP's strategic innovation roadmap and shape and sustain our industry leadership position in India."

A veteran with 18 years of industry experience, Suprakash has been associated with SAP for six years. He has been a key leader at SAP India since 2008, leading Enterprise Sales business units and in 2012 became the Head of SAP's Database and Technology business for India.

Suprakash holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering and is a Post Graduate in Business Management from IMT Ghaziabad.
