SANYO Energy opens new solar sales office

SAN JOSE, USA: SANYO Energy (USA) Corp., a subsidiary of SANYO Electric Co. Ltd (SANYO), has opened its newest sales office in San Jose, California.

SANYO moved into its new building at 550 South Winchester Boulevard on April 1, sharing the office with SANYO North America’s Research & Development Group. The office has already started operations, aiming at further growing the solar business in North America.

“Due to both the current and ever-increasing demand we are experiencing in North America for SANYO’s high efficiency, high power generation HIT solar panels, we feel it is very important to be near the hub of the world’s most advanced and most recent innovative technology used for both general applications, and the solar industry specifically,” according to Yoshinori Kaido, Vice President of SANYO Energy USA. “We believe that the high concentration of our valued solar customers and the highly experienced workforce around the Bay Area make it the perfect location to continue to grow the business as we target 600MW of annual production capacity by March 2011.”

San Jose is rapidly becoming a center for clean technology companies with environment-related technology and products, providing the foundation for future innovative, green technology. By opening the office in San Jose, SANYO will be positioned in the middle of the next wave of the most innovative new clean technology.
