Sandeep Nair takes over as MAIT President

NEW DELHI, INDIA: MAIT, the apex body representing India’s IT hardware, training and R&D services sectors, today organised its twenty-seventh Annual Session. The event also marked change of guards at the association with Sandeep Nair, president, Emerson Network Power (India) Pvt Ltd taking over as the new President and Alok Bharadwaj, senior vice president, Canon India as its vice president for the term 2010-11.

Delineating MAIT’s roadmap for the future, Sandeep Nair said, “Creativity, innovation, convergence and collaboration would help put us on a faster growth trajectory. The domestic market is vastly unexplored and we need to come up with innovative solutions to deepen the IT penetration beyond the urban masses. The challenge today is of creating a robust energy efficient IT infrastructure across the dimensions of the nation to enable easy information access for the common masses.”

While thanking MAIT for electing him vice president, Alok Bharadwaj said, “India is entering a phase of 'Golden decade' that will see a sustainable high economic growth. IT & technology will serve as big enablers and for India to emerge globally competitive in the hardware arena, apart from creating a vibrant domestic market we need to create a stable policy regime.”
