CIOL Samsung’s refurbished Galaxy Note 7 to reportedly go on sale by June

While Samsung is yet to make a statement about the refurbished version of Galaxy Note 7, rumour mills are going swamped with new reports almost every day. The latest report is from Korean publication ETNews, suggesting that refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will go on sale in South Korea by June.

As per the report, the company is currently working on the re-branding of the refurbished device which could go on sale as the Galaxy Note 7 R.

Since Samsung blamed its big-faulty batteries for the explosion of the Galaxy Note 7, the R version is expected to be powered by a smaller 3,200 mAh battery.

The infamous explosions resulted in massive $3.1 billion loss for the tech giant in two-quarters but the chip and display business balanced it out for them. The company also managed to recall around 96 percent of the devices it had sold, which was also a major feat.

In terms of the pricing of these refurbished devices, Samsung hasn’t reached a conclusive decision as yet. However, many reports are suggesting the amount could be around $620.

Though Samsung is taking every precaution and is also cutting the price by about a third, are you willing to purchase a Galaxy Note 7 that 'might' set on fire again?
