Samsung claims to have more than 40 percent market share in the Indian smartphone market by value (source: GFK data), but has been facing a stiff competition from the homegrown brands that are churning out value for money phones at regular intervals and also from the exclusively available online brands which are eventually eating into its market share.

However, Samsung is trying to strike a balance between its existing offline and online channels as it continues to release phones for price-savvy as well as performance hungry and feature-savvy buyers in the value-for-money as well as premium segments.
