Samsung strengthens its IT business

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Samsung India, announced several new initiatives to strengthen its IT peripherals business in the country this year.

The company, which is the global market leader in colour monitors, has launched three new advanced LCD monitor series, as well as its foray into two new product verticals: projectors and digital photo frames.

The new, advanced, feature rich, premium LCD Monitor series: T Monitor, Myst Plus, and Lime offer consumers Total Display Solutions for their home and office requirements. In addition to strengthening its IT product portfolio, Samsung also announced its plans to expand its IT channel this year, including setting up of dedicated IT brand shops.

With the launch of the new series of LCD monitors, Samsung, which is aiming to become a total Display Solution Provider , now has an enhanced portfolio aimed at Home and SOHO customers. It already has a strong lineup in large format displays aimed at public display locations and corporates.

Samsung India also announced its foray into the digital projector market with the launch of its full HD 1080p projector, the A800. Designed to offer ultimate picture quality and true to life images, the A800 is powered with DLP 1080p Film Technology with 95 percent aperture ratio and a fast response time of 16MS, has a stylish and premium dolphin design , 1080p 24 frame true film mode and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. Offering Joe Kane Certified picture quality, the A800 is priced at Rs 350,000. Samsung plans to further strengthen its digital projector offering in the coming months.

Samsung also announced its entry into the digital photo frame market by announcing the launch of its 8” digital photo frame, SPF-83H in the Indian market. This photo frame comes with an internal memory of 128 Mbyte and simple functionality The range will be further strengthened by adding wireless network photo frame in another couple of months. The SPF-83H is priced at Rs 9,900.
