Samsung to release GALAXY S III this month end

BANGALORE, INDIA: Samsung Electronics newest smartphone - GALAXY S III - be available for India customers from early June.

Samsung on Friday sent out official invitations to press persons in India inviting them to

"Join us to discover just how intelligent the GALAXYSIII really is."

Samsung will also be releasing the new Galaxy S III in 145 countries starting with Europe on May 29. Within a few weeks of the global launch, the smartphone, whose price is under wraps, would be available in India.

Powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, the Samsung GALAXY S III has a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display offering 16:9 wider viewing angles.

The phone, available in two colours – Pebble Blue and Marble White – weighs 133 grams and is 8.6 mm thick. With an 8 MP camera and 1.9 MP front camera, it provides "a variety of intelligent camera features and face recognition related options that ensure all moments are captured easily and instantly," a press release said.

The company proposes to introduce a variety of additional colour options too.
