Samsung launches all-new GALAXY Tab 3 series

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Samsung today announced new GALAXY Tab series that would hit shelves from this Sunday.

The new releases include Samasung GALAXY Tab 3 211 for Rs 17,745 with 7-inch display; Tab 3 311 for Rs 25,725 with 8-inch screen; and Tab 3 310 (Wi-Fi only) for Rs 21,945 with 8-inch display.

The new Samsung GALAXY Tab 3 range comes with a free 2GB/month data plan from Vodafone for two months. The company has leveraged intuitive features and enhanced performance in its next-generation GALAXT Tab 3 portfolio.

The electronics major has introduced many innovative features and apps to facilitate edutainment.

Samsung Mobile and Imaging business head Vineet Taneja said that they have created new tablets to serve the multi-tasking needs. "Educational content on tablets, is a good driver today. In addition, a section of enterprise sector is also adopting it to facilitate mobility to their workforce," he said.

"Tab 3 lineup carries forward the Samsung legacy of innovation by offering consumers the benefit of smartest screen and an unmatched performance with a host of apps that allows device personalization," Taneja said. He also believes that by the end of 2013, the tablet market would be doubled from the 2012 figure of 1.5 million units sold.

The new GALAXY Tab 3 310 and Tab 3 311 devices are equipped with 1.5 GHz and 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on latest Android Jelly Bean platform. These devices have inbuilt Samsung proprietary ChatOn app. These tabs have preloaded MyEducation with 2000 eBooks and an array of services and over 350 brands offering under MyServices app.

Samsung Electronics has garnered 62 per cent market share in the tablet category, while company's mobility portfolio enjoys a 49 per cent of market pie during the May 2013.
