Samsung launches GALAXY S Duos priced Rs 18K

BANGALORE, INDIA: Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, on Wednesday announced the expansion of its Dual SIM smartphone portfolio with the launch of the GALAXY S -Duos (GT-S7562) and GALAXY Y -Duos Lite (GT-S5302).

Powered with a 1GHz CPU processor speed and based on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the GALAXY S Duos offers an powerful experience to its users along with the Smart Dual SIM access.

Designed to deliver an exciting entertainment experience to the users, the device has a large 4.0” (10.16cm) 480x800 (WVGA) TFT display that produces brilliant colors and vivid imagery, making it a pleasure to browse photos or surf the web. The GALAXY S Duos comes with a powerful 1500 mAh battery and a 5MP AF + VGA Front / LED Flash camera.

The GALAXY S Duos is pre loaded with ChatOn messenger and a host of applications like ‘My Music’ , ‘My Movies’ and ‘Handy’ . ChatOn, Samsung’s unique cross-platform communication service, enables the users to socialize with friends via a phone number-based service that allows them to do more than just instant message.  ChatOn allows users to freely share multimedia content, do group chatting with friends and create personalized animated messages.

The app offers more than 10000 FREE videos that have been curated by teachers and is the largest collection of educational videos mapped to the Indian curriculum. These videos are relevant for all students from Class I to XII. The app also offers more than 800 education text books, which would be the largest collection of educational e-books in India. Students can also access assessment papers and can take assessments on real time basis, which helps them in monitoring their own progress. And beyond e-books and tests, students can access education related news and discover schools and education institutions via GPS.
