NEW DELHI: Samsung Electronics India will launch a free service campaign for

all its IT and telecom products during August 18 to August 31. The company

claims that this is the first of its kind campaign in the country undertaken by

any IT or telecom company and "is a commitment to providing customers with

its latest products backed by superior service." During January 2000, the

company had held a similar free service campaign for its consumer electronics

products.

The highlights of the special offer include free service for Samsung color

monitors, laser printers, optical disc drives, (CD-ROM, DVD) and hand-held GSM

phones, a 20 per cent discount on all spares used for out-of-warranty product

repair and carry-in service for all products. No labor charges will be paid by

the customer for sales done by authorized channel partners. For high-end

products like the 17" and above size monitor, the company will be rendering

service at the customer’s home/place of installation. Software update of

handheld GSM phones will be on a chargeable basis. A service hotline has been

set up at all branch offices to facilitate easy access by Samsung customers.

Samsung Electronics India has also recently launched an online call

registration facility at samsungindia.com, which can be used by customers to

reach Samsung service and a dedicated helpline for its hard disk drives. During

the free service camp, each branch will have a unique number which customers can

call on for any queries.
