Samsung intros NFC-enabled color laser printer and MFPs

SEOUL, KOREA: Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has introduced NFC (Near Field Communication)-enabled color laser printer and multi-function printers (MFPs) Xpress C4XX series that let users print high quality photos and documents from their smartphones with ease.

The new printer Xpress C4XX series consists of the C410W color laser printer, the C460W color laser MFPs with print, copy and scan functionality, and the C460FW color laser MFPs with print, copy, scan and fax capabilities. C4XX series have been specifically designed with the home and small office user in mind who wants to print content from their smartphones. These three models are able to print up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and 4 ppm in color.

"Our latest printing solutions are grounded in consumers' desire to print photos and documents directly from their phone," said David SW Song, senior VP of Strategy Marketing and Sales, Printing Solutions, Samsung Electronics.

"The Xpress C4XX series that supports NFC is a good example of how Samsung is pioneering the mobile printing solution and NFC printer market, as well as demonstrating our commitment to R&D and designing products that enhance consumers' experiences. Samsung will continue to expand NFC-enabled mobile printing solutions to small to medium business users."

C4XX series is available in the country from 2nd half 2014.

Mobile printing made easy

Printing has never been easier. The Xpress C4XX series connects wirelessly with mobile devices for fast, integrated and convenient printing on the go. Users can effortlessly and securely print pictures, documents, e-mails and web content by simply tapping their smartphones on the printer. Scanning and faxing documents is also made easy as users are able to sync the contents on their smartphones with the printers.

With Samsung Mobile Print App users are now able to print everything from PDF files to Microsoft Office documents such as Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations directly from their smartphones.

Users who do not have NFC enabled smartphones or have not installed the Samsung Mobile Print App on to their phones can still benefit from the Xpress C4XX series as it supports Google Cloud Print. This solution allows users to print over the web from anywhere with compatible smart device.

Additionally, owners of Samsung's GALAXY smartphones and Galaxy Tab series have the added benefit of being able to print images from the gallery app, documents, email and web browser pages.

Simple and hassle-free

The process of setting up wireless printers often involves multiple steps, connecting printer and set up network key. However, with Samsung's Xpress C4XX series, installation is done in three quick steps without the need for a USB connection between the printer and computer.

Consumers can use the ‘One Touch Eco Button' and ‘Easy Eco Driver' to operate the printers in ‘eco' mode and save up to 20% in overall costs. The ‘Easy Eco Driver' was awarded with the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Innovation' award from Buyers Lab in 2012.

The new line-up also features the ‘Easy Printer Manager' that helps home and small office users manage their software without the need for specialized IT managers. Users can monitor printer status, such as error messages, paper empty, toner empty and paper jam alerts.

Exquisite color and design

Samsung's unique Rendering Engine for Clean Page technology guarantees professional quality output with sharp text and clean images, and the polymerized toner makes for strikingly vivid and glossy color printing.
