Samsung intros two new mobile phones

NEW DELHI: Samsung Electronics today announced the enhancement of its touch screen range by launching Samsung Champ, touch mobile phone which can function as a music player, and Omnia Lite, a Windows 6.5 Pro based touch screen phone.

Ranjit Yadav, director — Mobile and IT, Samsung India claimed that Samsung pioneered the revolution in touch screen segment in India and the company is sustaining the excitement in the category through its innovative new launches.

“While the Samsung Champ is a touch screen phone aimed at the young consumers who love music and enjoy an active online social life, the Omnia Lite is for consumers who want multimedia entertainment as well as business features on their phones,” he said.

The full touch mobile, which can function as an enhanced music player with a 3.5mm ear jack and dual speakers, features sound Alive 3D effects, Wireless FM, 30 MB internal memory that is expandable up to 8GB, 2.4” QVGA touch screen, 3 page extended menu, Touchwiz Lite 2.0 and the Stylus Pen, VGA Camera, Image Editor, Advanced Mobile Tracker, SOS Message etc.

The phone also offers connectivity to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, Flickr, Friendster, Picassa, and Twitter.

The Samsung Champ is priced at: Rs. 4500.

The Samsung Omnia Lite comes with Windows 6.5 Pro Edge. Using this handset, users can view, edit MS Word, MS Excel, Powerpoint slides and view PDF files and can also enjoy MS Exchange Server Push e-mail, claimed Samsung.

It claimed that the Opera Browser lets the user browse the net 2.5 times faster than Internet Mobile Explorer while the 3G connectivity allows users to load documents, songs, photos and more in seconds.
