Samsung India appoints Mahesh Krishnan as VP

BANGALORE, INDIA: Samsung India, the India arm of South Korean digital technology and consumer electronics major Samsung, announced on Monday that it has appointed Mahesh Krishnan as ‘vice president and business head’ for its home appliances business in India.

In this role, Krishnan will be responsible for managing the sales and marketing of Samsung’s home appliance portfolio comprising refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and microwave ovens, said a press release.

He will also be responsible for spearheading the modern retail function with the consumer electronics division of the company. He will be reporting directly to Ravinder Zutshi, deputy managing director, Samsung India.

“We are very pleased to have Mahesh join our company at a time when it’s going through an exciting growth phase. With his blend of experience in the consumer durables and the FMCG segment, I am confident that he can lead Samsung India’s strong growth in the Home Appliances segment in the country,” said Zutshi.

Mahesh Krishnan has handled various sales and marketing roles during his career spanning over 21 years. An IIM Bangalore alumni, Krishnan commenced his career with TVS Whirlpool Ltd in 1989. Since then, he has worked with renowned brands such as ITC Limited, General Mills and Goodyear in senior roles across various sales and marketing functions. He was vice president and SO Leader with Philips Electronics prior to joining Samsung India.
