BANGALORE, INDIA: Samsung's new smartphone Galaxy III, released on Thursday, can be described as a stylish and powerful smartphone set to become the next flagship mode of the South Korean manufacturer.

Samsung says the phone's design and user interface are inspired by shapes and sounds found in nature. Galaxy III has a 4.8 inch screen, quite big enough for the hand, but it is built of glossy plastic and looks classy.

Unlocking it is unique as was in Samsung Galaxy Note with no direction indicating strip. When one swipes on the screen, ripples of waves appear before it is unlocked and that is accompanied by sounds of water drops.

Display on its Super AMOLED screen is brilliant. This AMOLED screen has a resolution of 1280X 720 pixels, more than what a professional user would ask in a smartphone.

The Galaxy S III plays on the strengths of its successful predecessor Galaxy S II. It has some smartphone firsts too: A screen which doesn't fade until you take your eye out of it, HD video playback in small video and automatic calling when you hold it to your ear.

The advanced Smart Stay in the Galaxy III automatically recognises when you are looking at the phone, whether it is to read an e-book or browse the web. The front camera looks deep into your eyes and maintains a bright display for continued viewing pleasure.
