Samsung Galaxy SIII is now in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The wait is over. Much hyped Samsung Galaxy SIII finally reached the Indian market. The new Smartphone powered with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich features a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display.

Priced at Rs. 43,180, the new device comes with enhanced intelligence and a slew of advanced technological capabilities. Samsung Galaxy SIII has S Voice that recognizes natural language with sensors for smart dial.

The phone has an 8MP camera with zero-lag shutter and 1.9MP front camera options, with which the users can instantly capture moments. Samsung Galaxy SIII boasts Smart Stay feature that allows bright display in conjugation with eyes and recognizes usage patterns.

Samsung South West Asia President and CEO BD Park said that the strong adoption of smartphone by the Indian market has encouraged them to sustain the excitement in the market place by launching iconic devices like Galaxy SIII.

The electronics major has said that they are optimistic about the Indian Smartphone landscape. “With 20 million smartphones that are projected by the end of the year, we aim to achieve 60 per cent market share,”said Ranjit Yadav, country head, Samsung India.

Through its app store, the company offers multitude of locally-relevant applications. Samsung India VP Asim Warsi said, “We have apps like ChatOn and S Suggest as well as My Station, which are exclusively developed for SIII for live music and concerts.”

Samsung India said that they will support all channels including online. “We have received more than 1,000 pre-orders through e-commerce Web portals,” the company informed.
