Samsung Galaxy S4 price in India could be over Rs. 50,000

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Are you waiting eagerly for the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch in India? Are you willing to shell out any amount of money to own the smartphone? If yes, then good for you, as the Galaxy S4 is being expected to be priced over Rs. 50,000 in India.

According to a report on NDTV, AT&T will begin taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 on April 16 for $250, which is $50 above the usual introductory price for high-end smartphones, including Apple's iPhone 5. Also, the Amazon UK factory unlocked price of the Galaxy S4 is 699 pounds. Hence, one might expect a price-tag north of Rs. 50,000.

Also, soon after the release of Samsung Galaxy S4, some Indian websites listed the smartphone with the price tag of Rs. 45,000. Samsung Galaxy S4 is also up for pre-order booking on Rediff Shopping and other online sellers, who are quoting a price of Rs 59,990. As per the listing, the phone will start shipping in 45 days. Although, Samsung is yet to announce the date of availability and the price of the smartphone in India.

However, according toa recent report, Samsung Galaxy S4 is the fastest smartphone in the world so far. Primate Labs, makers of GeekBench, compared the Galaxy S4 result from Android Authority to other smartphones. The report mentioned that Galaxy S4 has the highest score of 3163 followed by HTC One, LG Nexus 4, Galaxy S III, iPhone 5 and BlackBerry Z10.

The specs of the Galaxy S4 are 5 inch screen with Super AMOLED display (441ppi), 1.9GHz quad-core processor/1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and 2,600mAh battery. The smartphone will be available in black mist and white frost colors.
