Samsung brings 4G Galaxy Tab A to India at Rs. 20,500; Tab E to cost Rs. 16,900

BANGALORE, INDIA: Samsung is bringing its 4G LTE Galaxy Tab A to India this week. It is also launching another mid-range tablet, Galaxy Tab E, which will be launched exclusively on Flipkart initially and will be available through all the sales channels later. While Tab A will hit the retail counters this weekend and will be available through all the sales channels.

Galaxy Tab A is an 8-inch tablet which will support both LTE bands- TDD and FDD and will be available at Rs. 20,500, while Galaxy Tab E is a 9.6-inch 3G tablet at Rs. 16,900. Both the tabs support voice calling.

Samsung is seeing strong growth in India for the tablets within the price band of Rs. 10,000-20,000, said Asim Warsi, vice president of marketing for IT & Mobile at Samsung India during the launch.

Samsung is also offering 2GB free Airtel data pack for two months with the Galaxy Tab A. Buyers will also get 1GB free data on 1GB Vodafone data pack for two months with the Galaxy Tab E.

Galaxy Tab A features:

The Galaxy Tab A runs on Android Lollipop and Quad-Core 1.2GHz processor, features 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and microSD card slot supporting expandable memory up to 128GB.

Galaxy Tab A also ensures an optimal viewing experience with its 4:3 aspect ratio and rich Adaptive Display. The 4:3 screen ratio maximizes coverage and minimizes blank space. Users will be able to view 20% more material for web pages and 30% more in composing long emails. Galaxy Tab A’s newly-designed book cover transforms into 3 different positions for optimal typing, web browsing or watching movies.

The device is capable of automatically adjusting the colour gamut, contrast and sharpness on the screen to add to make viewing and reading a pleasure.

Samsung is also offering its consumers free access to premium applications and services worth Rs. 30,000 across genres such as Entertainment, eBooks, Lifestyle, Utility Apps with Galaxy Tab A in India.

Galaxy Tab E features:

Running on Android Kitkat, Galaxy Tab E runs on Quad-Core 1.3 Ghz processor, features 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and microSD card slot supporting expandable memory up to 128GB.

The 16:10 ratio is made for consumption of multimedia content. Tab E users can utilize the tablet’s expansive screen size for watching movies and playing games. The tablet allows usage of Multi-Window to access two apps at the same time.

Galaxy Tab E also features ‘Kids Mode’, making it easy for children's use.
