Salt March to host Eclipse event

BANGALORE, INDIA: The 2009 edition of Eclipse India Summit (ESI), Asia’s first and annual Eclipse-only show would be held on July 17 and 18 in Bangalore, India.

The summit would feature intensive talks on all that developers need to know when using Eclipse-based tools and technologies.

Eclipse is no longer open source’s best-kept secret. It has come out of the closet, and how! Now at a crossroad in its evolution, the ecosystem’s footprint is broadening to encompass a larger spectrum of offerings for software developers in areas such as modeling, embedded, mobile, RIA and Ajax, SOA and dynamic languages, said a press release.

One of the largest user bases for Eclipse in the world, the Indian ecosystem of software/tool developers and technology companies are benefiting from quick time-to-market and standardized user experiences by building their tools using Eclipse technology. Developers need to know when using Eclipse-based tools and technologies.

The summit would feature four core tracks that hold relevance, immediacy and impact for the Eclipse ecosystem in India, Product Development Essentials, Modeling Techniques, eDevelopment, and Ganymede – Cool and New.

It would feature eight in-depth workshops catering to the intermediate and advanced levels, 12 focused sessions and plenary talks from industry leaders.

The program covers Rich Client Platform, Rich Ajax Platform, PDE Plug-in Development Environment, Eclipse Communication Framework, Graphical Editing Framework, Model-to-Model Transformation, Embedded RCP, Data Tools Platform, Testing and Profiling Tools Platform, Equinox/OSGI, BIRT, Ganymede Cool and New and more through various interactive discussion formats, added the release.
