Sai Info makes a retail foray with eMall

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat-based Sai InfoSystem (SIS) forayed in to IT retailing by opening an 8000-sq ft eMall in Ahmedabad. The eMall showcase IT products ranging from desktops, laptops to computer peripherals and accessories.

“eMall is a combination of multinational as well as national brands. The plan is to showcase around 20 leading brands like HP, Lenevo and Zenith and give our customers a complete range under one roof,” said Vijay Mandora, Executive Director, Sai InfoSystem.

“We have been doing very well as one of the top fifteen solution providers in the country. So we decided to explore this new opportunity and conceptualized the project about one-and-half years ago,” said Mandora.

According to Mandora, this is a pilot project based on the research and feedback collected from end-user over the years. SIS plans to have a chain of such malls across the country. “This is the first in series of fifteen malls we have planned to open across the country. Out of which three would be up by the end of this financial year,” said Mandora.

An in-depth research and detailed study of markets and trends in the consumer behavior in China and other emerging markets were conducted before they modeled and conceptualized the mall.

The eMall, which was inaugurated on Diwali, will soon have kiosks to help customers take own decisions on brands and configuration to buy. “The customer has to just key-in his budget and the screen will display the models available in that range. With all these value-additions we definitely stands out in the crowd who are all rushing the retail wagon,” said Mandora.

Besides kiosks product managers to help end-users will man the malls. Customers buying products from eMall will also get dual support post purchase. “Apart from the vendor support, he will also have option of seeking support from SIS call center,” added Mandora.
