Sahara intros NB5240-N9 notebook in India

NEW DELHI: South Africa-based Sahara Computers and Electronics Ltd today introduced its 64 bit highly portable and mobile notebook NB5240-N9 in India.

The Mobile AMD 64 Turion Notebook is priced at Rs 47,999 and comes with a pre-loaded Windows XP OS.

Powered by Mobile AMD Turion 64 processor, the notebook is designed to maximize performance through its hyper thread technology. While the HTT takes care of the active responsiveness to application launches and security needs, the notebook is also one of the lightest in its class.

Commenting on the new introduction, George Van Der Merwe, chief operating officer, SCEL, said, "The launch of SCEL's NB5240-N9 Notebook will help in expanding the market exponentially."

The N9 comes with a 256 MB DDR RAM upgradeable to 2 GB, 40GB HDD, 14" TFT-LCD display, complete with accompaniments for a professional notebook. Convenience as a highlight of the notebook, the NB5240-N9 is Wi-fi enabled and has embedded Bluetooth technology. The notebook also provides for 3-in-1 micro card reader that support SD/MS /MMC cards besides having a DVD R/RW 8/4/8X Dual drive.

The Sahara NB 5240 — N9 comes with pre-programmed application launch key pad that sport functions on just a touch of a button, these being e-mail, browser and two keys that can be customized to user needs.
