BANGALORE: The School of Audio Engineering Technology College (SAETC) of
Sydney has opened its second college in India at Bangalore. SAETC already runs a
college in Chennai. SAE Bangalore would be offering courses in the fields of
multimedia production and digital filmmaking. The course on multimedia
production, involves acquiring new skills in the artistic and business spheres,
in addition to providing the student with inside information on working with
multimedia applications. The course on digital filmmaking, which involves camera
techniques, video edit techniques etc., offers a career in non-broadcast
television and institutional video careers.
The college, which will train 120 students in each discipline every year,
plans to offer a two-year degree course in multimedia production by July 2001
and a three-year degree in digital filmmaking by February 2002. The college has
an exclusive arrangement with the Middlesex University for offering university
education and degrees, including Masters and Doctorates.
According to SAE founder Tom Misner, "To commence work in a studio or
any professional broadcast facility today, one must have a solid grounding in
technology, consisting of both practical and theoretical knowledge. Our
curriculum is continuously updated to reflect the latest developments in the
audio and the multimedia industries."
