Sachin Tendulkar finally joins Facebook

BANGALORE, INDIA: Sachin Tendulkar, cricketer and Rajya Sabha  MP, has created an account on Facebook today. He has got 430,591 likes within just a few hours of going live.

The Facebook page displays all his major achievements so far. The page is being managed by Seven3Rockers.

''In April 2012, I accepted the Rajya Sabha nomination proposed by the President. Thus making me the first active sportsperson and cricketer to have been nominated to the Rajya Sabha,'' says the first post by Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar apparently welcomed his fans with a video message to his Facebook page. ''I'd like to welcome you to my Facebook family. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, join me on my Facebook so that we both can share this experience and go through this journey together," says the video message.

Tendulkar had joined the micro-blogging website Twitter in 2010 and currently has 26,80,791 followers.
