Rudra announces new anti-virus software

CHENNAI: Rudra Technologies plans to launch Rudra, a patent-pending anti-virus software, here next week.

NS Baskar, CEO and founder of the firm have built Rudra.

Currently, the two most important anti-virus technologies prevalent are Signature-based and Heuristic. Rudra by design works on an innovative model, differs from the existing anti-virus technologies.

Commenting on the launch, Baskar, said, "Signature-based anti-virus software needs constant updating and thus are in-effective against latest viruses. On the other hand, Heuristic Software can raise false alarm, as it only understands the modus operandi of viruses rather than the virus itself. Rudra technology is similar to immunization wherein the software understands the body (PC) and does not let any kind of malware enter the system."
