MUMBAI, INDIA: Though the RSA Authenticator Manager 7.1, an identity assurance solution was available in the Indian market it was officially launched on Friday at Mumbai at a channel meet organized by the company. The launch of the Authenticator Manager 7.1 is significant because it is said to be the biggest change to RSA’s identity assurance portfolio after a very long time.
RSA also gave its channel a peek into its data leakage plans for at the same event. With businesses facing increasing data breaches and threat that are getting increasingly complex, RSA is confident that its products will find better uptake amongst enterprises. Altogether, the new Authentication Manager incorporates four core capabilities.
Talking why the channel should be excited about the launch of the 7.1, Sriram Viswanathan, Channel Manager—India and SAARC said, “This is the first product of its kind in the world which will address the need for authentication. Besides this, since we work with a select channel network we offer healthy margins, vis-a-vis the competition.”
Currently RSA has a three-tier channel network that source products from their national distributor—Select Technologies. On the top are the Solution Partners that comprise the three tier-one IT infrastructure companies in the country. The next are Access Partners, who are 45 systems integrators who can build solutions around RSA products. The last 15 partners are the registered ones who keep buying from RSA on a need basis.
Viswanathan added that RSA is content with the universe of partners it is working with in India. “Our goal is to ensure that quality of partners we have is good rather than looking at increasing our channel base,” he said.
For the new launches, RSA will have a series of roadshows and will also engage in lead generation activities. Said Viswanathan, “The faster we train our partners the quicker they will be able to deploy the solutions. This will help them stay ahead of competition and also gain customer confidence.”
Coming to the unique aspects of the Authenticator Manager 7.1 it has credential management, which has various ways to prove user identity before granting access to systems. It also incorporates a range of authentication mechanisms, which provide users the ability to implement device identification and technologies such as one-time passwords.
Besides this the solution has expanded contextual authorization, which incorporates access control besides integrated intelligence, which is the ability to provide proactive threat protection with active monitoring, alerts on emerging threats and information sharing services.
