Rolta, PTC in strategic partnership

Rolta India Limited and Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) have entered into a

strategic partnership to promote advanced solutions in Mechanical Design Automation (MDA).

PTC, with this alliance, will be leveraging Rolta's market reach in India, expertise in

the area of CAD/CAM, high technology and implementation skills.

PTC VP (Asia Pacific) Chris Reisig said, "India is key focus market for us in the

South Pacific rim. Going forward, our direct presence coupled with complementary efforts,

resources and infrastructure of Rolta, would enable many more organizations to experience

the benefits of products development solutions from PTC that provide them with a

sustainable competitive advantage."

PTC has 350 CAD/CAM installations in India. From Rolta, PTC is expecting at least 100

installations in the first year of partnership. As for Rolta, it is not bound by market

segmentation for marketing PTC products, except for specific accounts to be handled

exclusively by PTC. PTC plans to do Rs 50 crore business by augmenting their direct

presence by the year 2000 in India.
