RIM launches BlackBerry Curve in India

MUMBAI: Nasdaq-listed Research In Motion (RIM) has launched BlackBerry Curve 8300 – the smallest and lightest QWERTY keyboard smartphones - in India today. The phones, priced at Rs 24,990, are available through GSM operators Hutchison-Essar and Airtel.

"The BlackBerry Curve is the phone for business professionals and consumers alike, as it combines multimedia capabilities with e-mail and instant messaging options," RIM Vice President (Asia Pacific) Norm Lo said.

The BlackBerry Curve comes with a 2 megapixel camera, with 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and a full-screen viewfinder. The images can be shared easily by e-mail, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger and transferred over Bluetooth or USB cable.

It also has an audio system, while other applications include a media manager for manage music (MP3) audio, picture and videos files.
